Driving Directions to Cape South
From Havelock North
Take Te Mata Road in the direction of Waimarama and Ocean Beach, passing Black Barn and Te Mata wineries on you right.
At the crossroads, with Te Mata Cheese Company on your left, turn right into Waimarama Road, drive past Craggy Range Winery (on your left), Te Mata Peak (on your right) and across the Tuki Tuki River. Having crossed the bridge follow the road around to the right. After 200m it veers sharply to the left (still called Waimarama Road and signposted Ocean Beach and Waimarama).
Continue along Waimarama Road for about 10km, during which time you will pass Lake Lopez on your left, and a left hand fork to Ocean Beach (do not go to Ocean Beach).
Five minutes after the Ocean Beach turn off and 500 metres after a yellow sign for “Tile Doktor” you will come to the left hand turn into Waipuka Road. Signs for Cape South are at the turning.
From Napier
Take State Highway 2 signposted to Hastings (This takes you down Marine Parade with the sea on your left.)
Drive through the village of Clive. Approximately 2 kilometres after leaving Clive take the left hand turn into Pilcher Road sign posted Cape Kidnappers and Waimarama. Mangatererere School is on the right hand side at the turning. Drive down Pilcher Road and at the roundabout go straight over into Te Mata Mangateretere Road.
